Tutoring
I have 23 years art teaching experience in state and private education, 12 years of which was as head of department, culminating as head of art at the outstanding St.Swithuns School.

All tutoring can be done via Teams/Zoom etc, although in-person, either here in my Wiltshire studio, or at home with you, is always so much more preferable. Hourly rates for all sessions are £50/hr to include travel time if necessary.

Year 6 to 12 Art Scholarships
With many years of assessing Year 6-12 pupils for scholarships I am well placed to be able to support your child's tutoring and preparation for the big day.

GCSE
The two year GCSE course can be daunting, particularly as it is a time-intensive course along side the other 10 or so subjects. I can step in and provide additional tutoring throughout the course to support that already provided at school.

A Level
The demand on the A Level art course is for quality to dominate the submission. From the preparatory work and thoughts produced in sketchbooks or separate sheets, to practical explorations and ultimately a final piece, all work produced and submitted in both the Personal Investigation, to include the supporting written element (Component 1 - 60%) and Externally Set Assignment (Component 2 - 40%) must exude quality.

Portfolio preparation for Foundation and degree
My experience extends to portfolio preparation for art foundation and specific degree courses. For the entirety of my teaching career I was a sixth form tutor so have extensive knowledge about course selection and UCAS preparation too.
