Weathered buildings
There is just something about an old building that appeals. If the door is hanging from the hinges and the brickwork or stones have lost their pointing and nature has begun to reclaim its place then I find it absolutely beautiful. Timber where many seasons have bleached it of colour and left it grey and muted, with its grain shrunken back and long-forgotten ironwork sitting embedded are details I look for as are storm-battered abandoned buildings left forlornly in fields with age-tempered corrugated roof sheets and gaps in the wooden-walled sides
